Friendly unicorns, colorful crafts and goodies, a ribbon-cutting, a new store opening, art shows, and after-hours shopping will all come together to create fun for all ages on Camas First Friday, June 4, 2021, from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM.
The First Friday passport activity is the “Unicorn and Rainbow Sticker Challenge”. Find Eunice the Unicorn, see the “clue” she’s sitting next to, and add the corresponding sticker to the participating business spot on the passport. Passports and sticker sheets can be picked up at Papermaker Pride (339 NE 4th). Post your completed passport on the First Friday Facebook page post by Saturday the 5th at noon and be entered to win Unicorn and Rainbow prizes from downtown. The more places you go, the more chances you have to win.
Dressing in unicorn and rainbow attire is encouraged while you visit art shows and receptions, have your picture taken with a friendly unicorn or have your caricature drawn on the spot. There will also be free Unicorn Kids’ Craft and free kids’ unicorn and rainbow goodie bags while supplies last.
Themed Unicorn and Rainbow virtual activities on the Downtown Camas First Friday Facebook page will start on Monday, May 31st and you can win downtown gift cards and other prizes for participating. You have until 3:00 PM on First Friday to complete. The winners of each activity will be posted on the Facebook Page at 5:00 PM on First Friday.
“This has to be one of the most silly (in a good way) and festive First Fridays we host!” says Carrie Schulstad, director for the DCA. “We’re excited to welcome a new shop, Golden Ladder Interiors, and see all the quality products and services they’ll be bringing to downtown. This event is all about enjoying Downtown Camas together and bringing that little extra bit of fun and magic to the experience. We encourage you to dress up in the theme and come on down and support our downtown small businesses. We have a few surprises up our sleeve so you won’t want to miss it!”
First Fridays are Art, Activities, Dining, and After Hours Shopping themed family-friendly events coordinated by the DCA each month of the year to support downtown and develop community and are being held in-person along with virtual activities throughout the week.
