Each year TwinStar Credit Union awards grants to a variety of educators throughout their Pacific NW service area. Applications are being accepted now through October 31, and winners are notified by December 31. Visit the TwinStar Credit Union website for application information.
In 2018, 271 teachers received Classroom Cash. Classroom Cash awards were distributed to each county in TwinStar Credit Union’s service area, including here in SW Washington. Teachers used grant funds for all types of classroom enhancements from calculators, software, books, musical instruments, educational toys and games, and more! Some teachers use the award to arrange field trips for students that would not have occurred without Classroom Cash.
According to TwinStar, in order to maintain award levels that provide enough funding to make a real difference to students the 2019-2020 Classroom Cash program will be limited to teachers teaching Kindergarten through 6th grade. Classroom Cash award winners can expect to receive $125 – $200 for their classroom.
