Tukes Valley Teacher Kendra Vaught: October 2018 Teacher Appreciation Program Grant Awardee

hey! sharing is caring :)

“Above and beyond for her students…”

As cliche as that may sound, it was backed up with example after example of why Tukes Valley Middle School teacher Kendra Vaught was deserving of being selected as the October 2018 TwinStar Credit Union/ ClarkCountyLive.com Teacher Appreciation Program grant winner.

Brian Amundson, Principal at Tukes Valley Middle School, submitted the nomination of 6th grade Math and Science teacher Kendra Vaught. According to the entry, “Kendra regularly goes above and beyond for her students. She works tirelessly to find new ways of engaging her students in math and science. Her car is usually one of the first in the lot and the last to leave. Kendra is a true teacher at heart and will do anything for her students. She is one of the best teachers I have ever worked with!”

Definitely sounds deserving to us.

The goal of the TwinStar Credit Union/ ClarkCountyLive.com Teacher Appreciation Program is two-fold; to provide an outlet to recognize the outstanding works and unselfish actions taken by teachers in their classrooms, and to financially assist these teachers to continue these admirable efforts on behalf of the children in our community.

As Principal Amundson also stated, “this grant will allow Kendra to provide new opportunities that are beyond the capability of our school budget or Kendra’s personal budget.”

And, from our perspective, assisting local teachers to dream about and implement these opportunities is one of the benefits of our Teacher Appreciation Program.
