Ridgefield Hometown Celebration is All Day Family Fun

Join your friends and neighbors for the 20th Anniversary of the Hometown Celebration! Visit downtown Ridgefield for all day fun for the whole family and kids of all ages on Saturday, December 7, 2019.

The day begins with the Ugly Sweater Fun Run from Ridgefield Runners. Awards are 3 deep in 10 year age divisions, with a special award for the Best Ugly Sweater.

Continue the fun at the Holiday Food and Gift Marketplace at Overlook Park. Shop Farmer’s Market vendors, Holiday gifts and decorations, roasting nuts, and more under large canopies with outdoor heaters from 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM. Live music from singing groups and bands from Sunset Ridge, View Ridge, and Ridgefield High School will fill the tent.

Starting at 2:00 PM, enjoy holiday and mulled wine from Windy Hills Winery in the Wine Garden. You can even enjoy the Tree Lighting from the comfort of the Wine Garden.

The Tree Lighting Festival will begin at 4:30 PM, then enjoy a performance from DanceFusion NW, a community sing-along, hot chocolate, and cookies.

The Holiday activities don’t stop at Overlook Park, you can explore downtown Ridgefield and enjoy even more Hometown Celebration.

Visit the Ridgefield Community Library for hot cider, cookies, and crafts as well as a Used Book and Gift Sale sponsored by the Friends of Ridgefield Community Library.

Find live Reindeer, participate in holiday-themed games and crafts, cookie decorating and all day kids activities. And don’t forget about Santa! Head over to Old Liberty Theater between noon and 3:00 PM for a visit with Santa. Bring your own camera and take pictures with Santa for free.

Tour the town while transported from each location by the Port of Ridgefield Holiday Trolley Rides from noon to 3:00 PM with warm blankets and holiday music. Don’t forget to cast your vote in the Holiday Decorating Contest.

End your evening by attending the Acoustic Guitar Summit at Old Liberty Theater. Enjoy a winter inspired soundscape from grammy-winning guitarists Terry Robb, Mark Hanson, and Doug Smith at 7:30 PM.
