Ridgefield sure knows how to pack in the fun and August’s First Saturday is sure to not disappoint.
First Saturday, August 3rd, kicks off in Overlook Park (113 – 131 S Main Ave) at 9:00 AM with the Saturday Farmer’s Market and First Saturday vendors and that is just the start.
Friends of the Ridgefield Library will be having a used book sale, there will be kids crafts, backyard games, and some volleyball.
Summertime tunes will be played by Whitehead and Munsey, a local band playing 1930’s to 1960’s jazz. Windy Hills Winery will be hosting a Wine Garden and box lunches and snacks will be available to purchase for a little picnic in the park. Oh, and don’t forget to grab some free watermelon slices!
Here is a list of events and times for the day:
9:00 AM to 2:00 PM – First Saturday Festivities – Farmer’s Market and vendors, Used Book Sale with Friends of Ridgefield Library, kids crafts, backyard games, and volleyball, live summertime music with Whitehead and Munsey.
9:00 AM – Blackberries and Birds Guided Kayak Paddle on Lake River – pre-register with Alder Creek/Ridgefield Kayak online or call them at 360-727-4520.
9:00 AM – History Walking Tour hosted by the Clark County Historical Museum – For more information and to pre-register, visit the Clark County Historical Museum online.
10:00 AM – Live “Play” in the Park: Arsenic and Cloisonne – a play written and directed by Bob Mayfield and performed by locals, you may even recognize a few.
11:00 AM to 12:00 PM – Cornhole Contest – Prizes will be given for both individuals and teams. No pre-registration is required.
11:30 AM – Windy Hills Winery Wine Garden Opens.
12:30 PM to 2:30 PM – The Ridgefield Community Library hosts Train Like an Astronaut – “Blast off with easy exercises and field games that make fitness fun.”
