In its 33rd year, the Lough Legacy Veterans Parade commemorates veterans past and present in all branches of our military for the sacrifices they have made maintaining our freedom.
Come out and show your support on Saturday, November 9, 2019, from 11:00 AM to 12:30 PM on Officer’s Row. The parade will start at the east end of Officer’s Row at East Reserve Street and will head west along Evergreen Blvd, past Officers Row and Providence Academy in downtown Vancouver.
The Grand Marshal is Mr. Robert Knight, former President for Clark College, retired Army Lieutenant Colonel, and last Commander of Vancouver Barracks. The Reviewing Officer is Brigadier General Donna Prigmore, Commander of the 142nd Fighter Wing, Oregon National Guard.
This parade would not be possible without the dedicated volunteers, local organizations and businesses, and the wonderful donation from Frank and JoAnne Lough who continue to donate resources supporting Veterans Day Services. Without these volunteers, the community would not be able to give the recognition that is much deserved to our local veterans in the annual Veterans Day Parade.
With over 100 parade entries, almost 2,400 people walking in the parade and more than 5,000 viewers, the community comes together to celebrate both the service and sacrifice local veterans have made for the freedom we love.
Following the parade, guests are invited to attend the Community Military Appreciation Committee Open House which will showcase businesses and organizations that employ or support veterans, from 11:00 AM to 4:00 PM at Hudson Bay High School (1601 E. McLoughlin Blvd.). There will be interactive and static displays, free hot dogs, chips, ice cream, coffee, and exciting exhibits. C-Tran will be offering shuttle service between downtown Vancouver and Hudson’s Bay High School every 15 minutes.
