Don’t miss this opportunity to put your hands on some history. Chautauqua: Hands-on History of Washington State, offered through the Historic Trust, is a free, special two-hour event on Saturday, May 4 from 10:00 am to noon that will give participants the ability to handle scores of objects, artifacts, and documents from our regional history.
Some materials are original and some are replicas, but all have permission to be touched and examined by participants with appropriate archival gloves. Check out items from Providence Academy, Buffalo Soldiers, Aviation, the Nez Perce, Historic figures, Health, Military, Spruce Mill, Hudson’s Bay, along with a few surprises.
Extensive research information is available. All attendees will receive a copy of “Field Findings” to document their explorations.
This event will take place at the Artillery Barracks (600 E Hatheway). For more information, visit CHAUTAUQUA (PRONOUNCED CHA-TALK-WA): HANDS-ON HISTORY IN WASHINGTON STATE.
