September 10
Upcoming dates:

Walking is the top recreational activity in the metropolitan area and to ensure the trail systems are properly maintained and developed, counters are needed to collect data for future plans and budgets. Do you have what it takes to be an official counter?

It is quite easy actually. Count dates are set for Tuesday, September 10th through Thursday, September 12th, 2019, from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM and Sunday, September 15th and Monday, September 16th from 9:00 AM to 11:00 AM. There are several locations to be counted. Volunteers will need to attend a required training session on one of two dates: Tuesday, August 27th from 5:00 PM or 6:30 PM at Vancouver City Hall (415 W. Sixth St.) or Thursday, August 29th from 6:00 PM to 7:30 PM at Clark County Public Works Operations Center (4700 N.E. 78th St.). Visit HERE to signup today. Volunteers can work alone or in pairs, must provide own transportation, wear identifying volunteer gear and endorsed equipment, follow count and survey protocols, and quickly send in completed count forms.

According to Vancouver Parks and Recreation Director Julie Hannon, “We need volunteer counters more than ever. Please sign up to volunteer or simply get outside and walk, bike or rollerblade at your favorite locations on these days and be counted.”

For more information and to sign up as a volunteer, visit the City of Vancouver online.
