There are several benefits an off-leash dog park has to offer as far as your pet is concerned. It not only gives them an opportunity to be free of a leash and the ability to run in a large area, but also gives them a chance to socialize with other dogs, and with other people as well.

If you’re looking for a fun new outing for you and your dog, check out Barks in the Parks from Vancouver Parks and Recreation. “Barks in the Parks is a series of three pop-up, off leash dog parks hosted in neighborhoods throughout Vancouver. Let your pooch enjoy time with new fur-ends as you connect with other dog lovers in your community.”

Each pop-up dog park is approximately one acre, completely enclosed with a five foot chain link fence and a double gate system to prevent unplanned exits. Additional garbage receptacles will be set up, including waste removal bags.

All Barks in the Parks locations will offer select times with on-site staffing by City employees and volunteers from Clark County DOGPAW. Staff will be available to address facility issues, answer questions and collect community feedback.

Hours will be Monday through Friday from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM, and Weekends from 10:00 AM to 2:00 PM. Weekend evening hours may be added to the schedule pending availability.

Locations:

July 1-19 | Endeavour Park | 2701 N.E. Four Seasons Lane

July 22-August 10 | Bagley Park | 4607 Plomondon St.

August 12-30 | David Douglas Park | 1016 N. Garrison Road

Dogs should be licensed and up to date on vaccines, and owners and handlers must remain in the fenced area to supervise pets, and keep them within view and under verbal control at all times.
