Free, family, educational fun for the whole family!
For the past 10 years, local Vancouver firefighters have been entertaining and educating families about fire safety and emergency preparedness at the Annual Fire in the Park event. This year’s event is set to take place on Saturday, July 20th from 9:00 AM to 2:00 PM at Esther Short Park.
Firefighters come together to make this a successful event for our community. Everyone will have the chance to meet some of our local firefighters and check out the Fire Trucks and Fire Engines up close, learn life-saving hands only CPR, and prepare for disaster. Kids will also learn about bike safety and earn a free helmet after they complete the Safety Passport (while supplies last).
Fire in the Park is a free, fun, family-friendly event to provide safety education to our community; but they will also be accepting donations for Firefighters Care. All proceeds will go towards a fund which allows local firefighters in the field to provide immediate, short-term support to people they encounter during emergency and non-emergency situations.
“It is a day of fun with a firefighter challenge, pipe and drum band, kids events and a variety of safety and awareness programs.” For more information and updates on the event, visit the Fire in the Park Facebook event online.
