The American Cancer Society Relay For Life has become a local tradition and continues to be a movement that symbolizes hope and a shared goal to end a disease that threatens lives.
This year’s fundraiser and festivities will begin on Saturday, August 19th with a Disney theme, so this will definitely be fun for the whole family.
The Opening Ceremony starts at 10:00 am on Saturday at Battle Ground High School, the perfect way to bring everyone together for a high-energy event kickoff.
In celebration and honor of cancer survivors, they will take the first lap around the track cheered on by the other participants.
The caregivers lap will follow, where anyone who ever cared for someone with cancer can walk a special lap.

You can register for a Relay for Life team, donate directly or volunteer to this amazing event.
There will be live music, activities and a Luminaria Ceremony on Saturday night at 10:00 pm to remember loved ones lost to cancer, support people who currently have cancer, and honor people who fought cancer in the past.
This is a 24 hour event, because cancer never sleeps, so teams are asked to have at least one participant on the track at all times.
Many teams make a whole night of it and camp out overnight to take turns walking or running around the track.
By participating you are joining a global movement that includes over 5,200 communities and 20 countries.
Closing ceremonies will take place Sunday morning starting at 9:30 am.
