Main Event Sports Grill in Fisher’s Landing presents an evening fundraiser event to benefit Southwest Washington Search and Rescue AND Evergreen Search Dogs – your local community volunteer Search and Rescue organizations. Before all the Walking and Knocking takes place on Saturday, December 3, 2016, before the bags are filled, before the bags are distributed, there are tons (well, maybe not tons) of paper bags that need to be folded! That’s right, about 150,000 paper bags need to be folded for distribution to homes as part of Clark County’s largest food drive.
Volunteers are needed for the sixth annual The Butt Stops Here cleanup to remove cigarette butts and other litter from parks on Saturday, October 22, 2016. Volunteer programs for Clark County and the city of Vancouver are coordinating the cleanup, which will be held in conjunction with Make a Difference Day.

Fort Vancouver National Historic Site has partnered with SOLVE Oregon to provide cleanup supplies and trash removal along the Columbia River Waterfront Renaissance Trail on September 17, 2016, from 10 am to 1 pm.

Last call for volunteers for Independence Day Celebration at Fort Vancouver! The Fort Vancouver National Trust still has openings for dedicated volunteers to lend a hand at one of Vancouver’s most iconic summer events: Independence Day at Fort Vancouver on Monday, July 4th, 2016. Last year more than 250 volunteers helped at the event, which was attended by more than 35,000 people.
I love walking the Waterfront Renaissance Trail. It has a great view of the Columbia River, I can walk along a sandy beach and stick my toes in the water, and of course stop at one of my favorite waterfront restaurants for a beverage or bite to eat. What I don’t like: Litter. But, together we can SOLVE this problem!
Columbia Springs’ Volunteer Lead program is like a club for people who want to give back and spread a love of the outdoors with their community. Volunteers who attend Volunteer Lead Training are asked to commit to 20 hours of service in one year. Leads who complete the training can help with school field trips, Salmon in the Classroom programs, community events, habitat restoration, and with the fish hatchery operations.

The goal is to clean up our local parks, by picking up litter and all those pesky cigarette butts. Volunteers will meet upstairs in the clubhouse in the Van Cleve Community Room at the Luke Jensen Sports Complex and from there everyone will head out to various community locations to make a difference!
