Small Town Summer Fun at Camas First Friday

The “Small Town Summer Fun” The First Friday in August will be full of summer activities and celebrations in Downtown Camas. “Small Town Summer Fun” is hosted by the Downtown Camas Association and the downtown merchants taking place on Friday, August 4, 2017, from 5:00 pm to 8:00 pm.

Summer Playground Program is in Session

School is out and that means Battle Ground’s Summer Playground program is in session. The free program brings fun recreational activities to Battle Ground parks. Each week features a different themed activity and provides children the opportunity to make at least one arts and crafts project to take home with them. No need to register, just come outside and play!

Columbia Flyway Wildlife Show Free at the Water Center

The public is invited to view intricately carved wildlife on display Saturday, September 10, and Sunday, September 11, 2016, during the 29th annual Columbia Flyway Wildlife Show and Northwest Championship at the Water Resources Education Center. The show is free to attend and focuses on hand carved, textured, and painted wood sculptures of birds, fish, and mammals in fifteen competitive divisions.

Campfires and Candlelight Event Recreates Night of Historic Fire

Fort Vancouver National Historic Site will host its largest living history event of the year, Campfires and Candlelight, on September 10, 2016. event. This free event has been a community tradition for over 30 years a great way to experience history by the glow of candlelight.

Celebrating 100 Years of our National Park Service

The 100th anniversary of the founding of the National Park Service will be celebrated at Fort Vancouver National Historic Site (NHS) on Saturday, August 27, 2016. Activities will take place at each of the four sites that make up this national park: the reconstructed Fort Vancouver, Vancouver Barracks, Pearson Air Museum, and the McLoughlin House in Oregon City, Oregon. Additionally, in honor of the centennial, all national parks nationwide, including Fort Vancouver NHS, will waive their entrance fees from August 25-27, 2016.

Vintage Base Ball Returns to Fort Vancouver

You will think you have stepped back in time as the National Park Service at Fort Vancouver National Historic Site will once again host its popular evening of 1860s vintage base ball at 6:00 pm on Saturday, July 25, 2015, on the national park’s historic Parade Ground. This event is a fun, free, and fantastic opportunity to experience “base ball” (then two words) at its infancy, with costumed players and supporters, a brass band concert, and a mountain howitzer firing to start the game.
