Pet Safety Tips for the 4th of July

Ever since I was a child, I always looked forward to going to the Fireworks Show at Fort Vancouver, and I still do; my dog, however, is not a big fan of fireworks. Unlike people, pets don’t associate the noise, flashes, and burning smell of pyrotechnics with celebrations; and usually panic at the sights, smells and sounds happening on the fourth.

The July 4th celebration in Ridgefield is a 100+ year old tradition and just keeps getting better and better. Sponsored by the Port of Ridgefield, this year this event gets a little wild to honor the independence of this great nation.

While the Independence Day Celebrations at Fort Vancouver will end with an exciting Fireworks extravaganza, the entire day is going to be a BLAST! Come celebrate the Fourth of July at Fort Vancouver National Historic Site all day and into the night on Monday, July 4, 2016 starting at 8 am.

Last call for volunteers for Independence Day Celebration at Fort Vancouver! The Fort Vancouver National Trust still has openings for dedicated volunteers to lend a hand at one of Vancouver’s most iconic summer events: Independence Day at Fort Vancouver on Monday, July 4th, 2016. Last year more than 250 volunteers helped at the event, which was attended by more than 35,000 people.
