Fun Events on First Thursday and Friday at the Historical Museum

The Clark County Historical Museum (CCHM) has two events each month that you do not want to miss. This museum is a great resource about local history for our community, but supports local artists, provides educational opportunities and hosts traveling exhibits.

Clark County Historical Society Celebrates 100 Year Anniversary and Grand Reopening

This year marks the centennial anniversary of the Clark County Historical Society. For 100 years, committed citizens have come together to preserve our region’s history for future generations! The transformed Clark County Historical Museum opens to the public on Saturday, March 4, 2017, to host the Clark County Historical Society 100th Anniversary celebration.

Join the Clark County Historical Museum and the La Center Historical Museum at 6:00 pm on Tuesday, February 6, 2017, at the La Center Community Center (1000 E 4th Street, La Center, WA) for the next installment of their series of countywide town hall conversations about each community’s history and heritage.

Vancouver Haunted Walking Tours

Experience a spooky slant on history on a Haunted Walking Tour of Vancouver on a dark (but hopefully not stormy) night. The Clark County Historical Museum’s 5th annual Haunted Walking Tours are reanimating Fridays and Saturdays this October. The spooktacular trips are at 7:00 pm and 9:00 pm each day and, new to this year, will start inside the Slocum House at Esther Short Park.

Ridgefield First Saturday Features Pop Up Museum

Enjoy some Red, White and Blue Historical Fun at Ridgefield First Saturday, July 2, 2016 at Overlook Park from 9 am to 3 pm. Gain a new understanding of old Ridgefield on this day full of play and discovery. Enjoy a Red, white and blue costume contest, games, icy kid and adult treats, a heritage-based scavenger hunt, convening with town elders, wine and beer garden and live music. A history lesson has never been so much fun.

A Sampling of February First Friday Downtown

It’s the fun of First Friday again in Downtown. As you enjoy your time celebrating original art in a number of locations throughout our downtown, be sure to note some outstanding public art always on display. Three projects (Flying Umbrellas at Evergreen and Main, The Phoenix at 8th and Main, and Heart and Stone at 6th and Columbia) were commissioned by our friends at Vancouver’s Downtown Association. Downtown Property Owner Menashe Properties has added an outstanding piece recently at 11th and Main – titled ‘Uskudar’ – by local artist Lee Kelly.

Are you a beader? Bring your project to the Clark County Historical Museum during Vancouver’s First Friday Downtown for open beading. Everyone is welcome to this free event. It’ll run

Harvest Fun Day at Hazel Dell Heritage Farm

Clark County Historical Museum Annual Event.

Aww, shucks; it’s just good old fashioned fun! The Annual Harvest Fun Day will take place again this year at the Hazel Dell Heritage Farm (1919 NE 78th Street, Hazel Dell) on Saturday, September 28, 2013 between 10 am and 3 pm.

This free family oriented event promises a full day of activities, contests and displays to celebrate Clark County’s rural heritage. “Harvest Fun Day is the Clark County Historical Museum’s annual FREE-family-fun-on-the-farm day! Come join us for a day filled with scarecrow-making, face-painting, pie-eating and corn-shucking contests, live music, and farming demonstrations and activities.”
