Saddle up for Fun at the 2016 Washington Horse Expo

The Washington State Horse Expo is one of the top equine events in the Northwest, attracting thousands of horse owners from all over the western region. Featuring national experts, first-class entertainment, premiere vendors, plenty of shopping and kid-friendly activities. It’s the horse enthusiast’s event of the year! The 6th Annual Washington State Horse Expo will be held at the Clark County Event Center at the Fairgrounds this February 19, 20 and 21.

See national experts, television celebrities and outstanding spokespersons attending the 2016 Horse Expo, including Julie Goodnight, Sharon Camarillo, Craig Cameron, Steve Rother and more. Plus, experience one of fastest growing equine sports across the nation – Working Equitation – an exciting combination of speed, dressage and obstacles. Fair Court Coronation Brings Royal Flair

The official Coronation of the 2016 Riverview Community Bank Clark County Fair Court will take place on Saturday, February 6th at the Clark County Fairgrounds inside the main Event Center Exhibit Hall at 5:00 p.m. The Coronation, sponsored by Riverview Community Bank, is an evening dedicated to the beautiful tradition of presenting the Fair Court to the public, media, Fair Board and the local business community. The evening of scrumptious food and entertainment will also include plenty of fun activities and games including a dessert dash and silent auction – so come greet your 2016 Fair Court!

Clark County SCAREGrounds… Come and Visit If You Dare

If you love a good scare…then the Clark County SCAREGrounds is a must see! This is spookiness at it’s finest…complete with Hollywood-grade set and costume design. In fact one of the main events, the Four Horseman Haunted Attractions, is so impressive that it has recently been a filming location for a number of Portland TV and Filmmakers.

Clark County Fair Disney Trip Winner Announced

The Clark County Fair may be over, but for one family, the fun is just getting started.

You may recall the ‘Download Appy’ sweepstakes we posted about this summer. You may have played along. And, who knows, you may have won. We know who did… more on that in a bit.

But first, a refresher: as part of a promotion to download the Clark County Fair’s new mobile app, nicknamed ‘Appy’, the Fair, in conjunction with app sponsor Peace Health SW Medical Center and Medical Group and trip promoter Vacation Internationale, was giving away a trip to a Disney Theme Park in Anaheim, CA to one lucky winner. Clark County Public Safety Complex Open House

At the Clark County Fairgrounds.

Join your friends and neighbors at the 12th Annual Public Safety Complex Open House on Saturday, September 15, 2012.

The fun starts at noon and lasts until 4 pm at the Public Safety Complex – 505 NW 179th Street (located at the back entrance to the Clark County Fairgrounds). This Complex houses the Clark County Sheriff’s Office West Precinct, the Clark County Fire Marshal’s Office and a volunteer fire station shared by Fire Districts 6, 11, & 12.

This free community event gives you a chance to meet your local firefighters and law enforcement, check out the emergency vehicles on display, and enjoy various demonstrations throughout the day. They will be serving up free hot dogs, chips, popcorn and pop. There will also be a Bounce House, Jr. Firefighter Challenge, Child ID and Fingerprinting, Health Screenings, Community Information, giveaways and more…

Clark County Fair Best Goes West

Celebrating 144 Years of Summer’s Best Party!

The Clark County Fair is the biggest summer event of the summer here, and will run Friday, August 3 through Sunday, August 12, 2012!  The Clark County Fair has been a family tradition since I was little ( although contrary to what my kids say, I was NOT at the first Clark County Fair!) and every year there is something new to enjoy.

This year’s theme is Summer’s Best Goes West and is an interactive exhibit that will take you back to the days of the Wild Wild West! “Wander into this simulation of a complete western town and you might just get caught in the cross fire of a bank robbery, gun fight – or worse yet, get tossed into our simulated jail cell for some great photo-ops! Kids will love the laser shooting gallery, mechanical roping horse and miniature donkey petting zoo. For the not so feint of heart, check out the Haunted Gold Mine presented by Scream at the Beach Productions.” 

There’s loads of free Grandstand Entertainment every day, with Big Air Moto X, Medieval Jousting, Barrel Racing, Demolition Derby, Truck Pull, Bull Riding, Tuff Trucks and Monster Trucks! There are also various stages and activity/entertainment spots throughout the  fairgrounds like Dock Dogs, Hypnotist, Hula Hoop Contests, Pirates Parrot Show and Super Science.

The SleepCountry Amphitheater will host the fair concerts, including Sara Evans, Creed, Chris Young, Sublime and the Texaco Country Showdown. The Texaco Country Showdown is a FREE concert on August 5th. “It’s the biggest country music talent search in the country, and the Washington State finals are happening during the Clark County Fair! If you are chomping at the bit to find out who is going to win this showdown and head off to the national finals in Tennessee for a chance to win $100,000 and national recognition as “Best New Act in Country”, then you better come to the Clark County Fair on August 5th”. 

Then, there’s the food, the rides, the games, the animals, the vendors, the crafts, the famous Clark County Dairy Womens Milkshakes…and more…
