Supporting Clark County’s Community Artists

Local Art Displayed at Upcoming Ridgefield Art Association Show.

More than 30 local artists will be displaying their visual media at the Ridgefield Art Association’s 19th Annual Spring Art Show and Sale. A silent auction with about 20 items donated by artists will also be put on with all proceeds going towards the RAA’s art scholarship fund.

“One of the main things RAA does is give a scholarship each year to a Ridgefield High School student who is going to go on in the art world,” said Bruce Crockett, RAA president.

Previously, the scholarship has been for $500, but RAA started fundraising early with a goal of increasing the scholarship to $2,000. RAA has already raised more than three-quarters of that from Ridgefield businesses and hopes to add to it with the profits from the auction.

Much of the artwork on display will also be on sale.

The art show is Friday, May 6 from 6 to 9 p.m. and Saturday, May 7 from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. at the Ridgefield Community Center. Visit http://www.ridgefieldartassociation.com/ for more information.
