Springtime Fun at Fort Vancouver

Now that the weather is warming up, there is plenty to do down at the Fort. There is something for everyone and all of these events are FREE! So check out what is coming up this spring.

World War I Centennial
On April 8th from 10:00 am to 3:00 pm, Fort Vancouver National Historic Site will host a commemoration of the centennial of the entry of the United States into the First World War.


This family friendly event will take place at Pearson Air Museum and will include a new exhibit, costumed volunteers, family-friendly crafts, and a ranger talk at 2:00 pm on the history of the DH-4 Liberty plane.

Junior Ranger Day
On April 15th, come down and celebrate National Junior Ranger Day!

From 10:00 am to 3:00 pm activities will be at both the Pearson Air Museum and at the reconstructed Fort Vancouver.

National Junior Ranger Day celebrates the next generation of National Park stewards and teaches youth about the land and how to protect the valuable resources of the National Park Service.

Yuri’s Night World Space Party
Don’t miss this celebration of space travel at this fun evening event on April 15th at 5:00 pm held at the Pearson Air Museum.

The night is dedicated to Russian pilot and cosmonaut Yuri Gagarin, who became the first person to travel into outer space. There will be family-friendly, space-themed activities for all ages.

Nez Perce Chief Redheart Ceremony
Honor the past on April 22nd at 10:00 am, where the community will commemorate the internment of Native people at Vancouver Barracks in the 19th century.

Children’s Cultural Parade
On May 19th at 10:00 am, come together with the community and celebrate diversity at this fun parade that brings together local marching bands and elementary students. The festivities will be held at the Parade Ground & Great Meadow.

Memorial Day and Soldiers’ Bivouac
Mark your calendars for this educational event that will include costumed re-enactors who will recreate Civil War-era camps on the Vancouver Barracks Parade Ground. Activities begin at 10:00 am on May 27th.
