Clark County residents can drop off block foam, electronic equipment, old tires without rims, refrigerators, freezers, air conditioning units and scrap metal. Participants are limited to five tires per person. Some events will provide shredding for a limited amount of paper. No business waste will be accepted.
“Take advantage of these free opportunities to dispose of difficult-to-manage recyclables,” said Don Benton, Environmental Services Director.
Household hazardous waste will NOT be accepted at these events. All household paints, pesticides, poisons, automotive fluids and chemicals can be disposed of for free at three transfer stations on most Fridays and weekends. Check www.clark.wa.gov/hhw for more information.
Residents who take household hazard waste to transfer stations between April 1 and Oct. 31 can enter to win a $20 gift card. Green Neighbors, an Environmental Services program, sponsors these events in partnership with the cities. A Washington State Department of Ecology grant provides funding.
Recycling Day Events are free and open to all Clark County residents. Proof of residency, such as a driver’s license or other identification with an address, may be required. Visit www.clarkgreenneighbors.org/recyclingday.html for more information.
