A new, fully licensed commercial kitchen space is now open for business and welcomes new members. The Second Mile Marketplace is a new community space open for food producers, food businesses, and food lovers.
Located in Salmon Creek near the I-5 and I-205 junction, the Second Mile Marketplace offers cold and dry storage, shelf space and a full range of commercial equipment as well as small business support services. Owned and managed by Jason Kuepfer and Holly Hansen, the Second Mile is a community-spirited business contributing to the health of the local food system with the goal of making food production in SW Washington easier for small-batch food producers. Commercial kitchen space is a key piece in the revitalization of the local food economy.
“The location of the Second Mile Marketplace in Salmon Creek is scheduled to house the next steps in building the Second Mile Food Hub over the course of the coming year. We envision connecting small-acre farmers in Clark County to new markets, trade and education through the Second Mile and its organization. We’re diligently working on next steps for the Food Hub and will be keeping you posted on our progress throughout the year.” ~Second Mile Marketplace
