Robin Jackam, Salmon Creek Elementary: December 2018 Teacher Appreciation Program Grant Awardee

hey! sharing is caring :)

“I’m only as good as my students.”

One of the first statements we heard from Robin Jackam exemplified all that matters in her classroom… the students.

That focus is likely one of the many attributes that made Robin Jackam, Kindergarten teacher at Salmon Creek Elementary school, the winner of the December 2018 TwinStar Credit Union/ ClarkCountyLive.com Teacher Appreciation Grant. She was selected from entries submitted by school Administrators and PTA Board/Members from schools and districts throughout Clark County. (submit a teacher nomination here.)

Ms. Jackam was quick to point out that her “students make it such a joy to teach.” And from the reaction of the kids, you could tell that joy was reciprocal.

The Grant nomination was submitted by a PTA Board/Member, who added, “She gave my son a passion for school! Her patient and kind demeanor create a loving environment at our school.”

Admittedly, you have to have patience to survive at the Kindergarten level, but aren’t we glad she does. :)

Alyssa Alvord, Associate Principal, added, “Ms. Jackam is a compassionate teacher who centers her decisions around what’s best for students. She is calm, welcoming, and hard working. Her passion and dedication pours through her work and students. The Salmon Creek community is privileged to have her.”

And we are privileged to have the opportunity to recognize her, and financially contribute towards her good works in the classroom.

The goal of the TwinStar Credit Union/ ClarkCountyLive.com Teacher Appreciation Program is two-fold; to provide an outlet to recognize the outstanding works and unselfish actions taken by teachers in their classrooms, and to financially assist these teachers to continue these admirable efforts on behalf of the children in our community.

Congratulations to Robin Jackam, and all the staff and students of Salmon Creek Elementary on this well-deserved award.
