Gifts for Kids in Care.

The employee-owners of Riverview Community Bank marked 32 years of tradition by donating hundreds of gifts to foster children through the Bank’s “Shirley DuPaul – Gifts for Kids in Care” program. Every year, the Department of Social and Health Services coordinates this program for foster children in the cities of Vancouver and Portland, and also Klickitat and Skamania County.

The foster children are asked to make a wish list for the employees; in return Riverview employees personally go out and purchase gifts for the children. The children’s wish list’s include various items ranging from clothes, blankets, toys, electronic devices, books and gift cards. This year Riverview employees purchased over 300 gifts for foster children in hopes of making this holiday season warmer and brighter. Gift donations this year also included more than 200 unwrapped items to the gift bank for Clark County foster children just entering the foster care system.

“We are always here to help, especially when it comes to helping the children in our community during the holidays,” says Executive Vice President, Kim Capeloto. “Our employees are very generous and giving during the holiday season and we hope to continue this amazing tradition for many more years to come.”

The Gifts for Kids in Care program honors the memory of Shirley DuPaul who was the driving force behind the program at Riverview for the first 20 years.
