The Ridgefield Big Paddle commemorates the designation of the Lewis River to Vancouver Lake Water Trail each year on National Trails Day. In 2021, the community is invited to visit the waterfront for a paddle and picnic on First Saturday, June 5, 2021.
Sign up for a guided tour or explore freely in the open paddle. Details on both can be found HERE. The first 150 visitors to the waterfront will receive a Big Paddle Swag Bag. Bags will be available beginning at 9:00 AM while supplies last.
Not up for a Big Paddle? Then you might want to purchase a lunch from a food truck, bring your own, or get take out and enjoy a picnic on the waterfront.
The Ridgefield Farmers Market also opens for the season at Overlook Park. Find Farmers Market and First Saturday vendors a just half-mile walk from the waterfront.
You can also jump-start your 100 Miles in 100 Days Challenge: Earn some miles on the first day of the challenge by walking, paddling, or completing a rowing challenge at Davis Park with East Ridgefield CrossFit.
Big Paddle will follow all local and state COVID-19 guidelines. This includes the amended Secretary of Health statewide order on Face Coverings. Masks are required in all event spaces in accordance with state guidelines.
The following people are exempt from the requirement to wear a face-covering: 1) People who are fully vaccinated against COVId-19, 2) Children younger than 5 years old, 3) People with a medical condition, mental health condition, developmental or cognitive condition, or disability that prevents wearing a face covering.
