There are some things that can be just plain awkward to talk about. But, just because something is awkward or difficult, does not mean it doesn’t need to be addressed. Throughout the month of February 2020, Share will host their Every28Days drive to collect donations of feminine hygiene products for low-income and homeless women and girls who struggle to afford these items.

Air Force ROTC Cadets Flying High After Being Awarded Aviation Scholarships

Four Air Force Junior ROTC cadets from Battle Ground High School will be flying high this summer after receiving scholarships to earn private pilot licenses. Nathanial Davis, Jarrett Huntington, Brooke Kirby, and Wyatt Moody are among only 200 AFJROTC cadets nationwide selected to receive scholarships from the Flight Academy Scholarship Program.

Woodland High School’s Robotics Team Goes All the Way to State Finals

Woodland High School’s robotics team, the Beaver Bots, won an Inspire Award and qualified to compete in the State Finals on Sunday, January 26, 2020. The Beaver Bots are one of 140 teams at high schools across Washington State taking part in the For Inspiration & Recognition of Science & Technology (FIRST) Robotics Competition.

Clark Green Schools Teaching Kids About Sustainability

It’s not often that a presentation starts with a story about a one-eyed, one-winged, one-legged chicken. But Will Hornyak, a professional storyteller, grabbed the attention of every kid in the room as he hopped, flapped, and crowed on stage. The story about the Adventures of Medio Pollito (half chicken) helped him teach Union Ridge Elementary students to be more aware of the environment.

Maple Grove Third Graders Test the Waters of Scientific Data Collection

These young scientists are just some of the more than 3,000 Clark County students who make up the Student Watershed Monitoring Network. The project trains teachers and students in grades kindergarten through high school to monitor water quality and habitat in a local stream, lake, river or wetlands.
