So, the holidays are over and now it’s time to take down all the decorations, lights and Christmas trees. Unfortunately, in my house not everything makes it back into the “Christmas Boxes” in the attic…ornaments break, light strings finally stop working, and the “live” Christmas Tree isn’t so alive anymore.
Well, the good news is Clark County residents will have an opportunity to recycle a variety of holiday wastes at the 2017 Holiday Recycling Event. This event will be from 9:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, January 7, 2017, at Cascade Middle School, 13900 N.E. 18th St.
Clark County residents can drop off block foam, electronics, artificial Christmas trees, strings of lights and metal-frame lawn ornaments. “The holidays often result in hard-to-recycle or bulky waste such as block foam, which takes up a lot of space in garbage cans,” said Kim Harless who leads the recycling event. “This recycling event provides people a great opportunity to deal with these materials responsibly.”
This Holiday Recycling Event is free and open to all Clark County residents. No business waste, household hazardous waste, Freon-containing appliances, tires or scrap metal will be accepted.
Please do not bring your “live” Christmas Tree to this event. For options on recycling your Christmas Tree, please view Christmas Tree Pick Up on Clark County Live.
