Race for Warmth Gives You a Warm Heart

hey! sharing is caring :)

Join our friends at Clark Public Utilities for the Race for Warmth to support Operation Warm Heart, a Clark Public Utilities customer-funded program to help limited-income families in crisis situations who need help paying their electric bills.

The 2015 event was the first annual Race for Warmth, and raised more than $20,000 for this critical assistance program. Check out the video from 2015 below.

The 2016 Race for Warmth, which will be held on January 31, 2016, will feature a 10k Run, a 5K Walk/Run, a kids Fun Run, and, my personal favorite, the ‘Sleep in to Stay Warm’ option (where you can donate any amount and sleep in the day of the event). :) – Here’s where you can Donate to help those in need (and feel good about sleeping in)!

For those inclined to make a race of it, there are new routes and Performance Shirts this year. Included with your registration you’ll receive a Run/Walk participation Shirt (guaranteed size if registered by December 31), a draw string bag with goodies, snacks and automatic entry into prize drawings.

You can register now by visiting Race for Warmth registration.

Since its creation in 1985, Operation Warm Heart has provided nearly $2.4 million to about 11,000 customers who are barely making ends meet, but don’t qualify for other government programs that could help them pay their winter bills. As other sources of aid continue to be cut, more of our customers rely on Operation Warm Heart for assistance. For more than 20 years, Clark Public Utilities customers and employees have generously funded Operation Warm Heart. Those customer contributions provide a perpetual source of funding to help low-income families in crisis. Your participation will help raise awareness and funds to help our neighbors in need.
