Join Clark Public Utilities for the Race for Warmth to support Operation Warm Heart on Sunday, January 29, 2017. This fun run will include a Kids Race, a 5K Run/Walk and a 10K Run.
Operation Warm Heart is a Clark Public Utilities customer-funded program to help limited-income families in crisis situations who need help paying their electric bills. Last year hundreds of people participated in the Race for Warmth to support Operation Warm Heart and raised more than $20,000 for this critical assistance program. Every dollar of your Race for Warmth registration goes directly to Operation Warm Heart.
“Since its creation in 1985, Operation Warm Heart has provided nearly $2.4 million to about 11,000 customers who are barely making ends meet, but don’t qualify for other government programs that could help them pay their winter bills. As other sources of aid continue to be cut, more of our customers rely on Operation Warm Heart for assistance. For more than 20 years, Clark Public Utilities customers and employees have generously funded Operation Warm Heart. Those customer contributions provide a perpetual source of funding to help low-income families in crisis. Your participation helps to raise awareness and funds to help our neighbors in need.” ~Clark Public Utilities
The Kids Race if free, the 5K and 10K are $30 with advance registration or $40 day of event registration. Included with your pre-registration is the Run/Walk participation, a long sleeve performance shirt (guaranteed size if registered by December 31), draw string backpack with goodies, snacks, automatic entry into prize drawings, and after party with free snacks and adult beverages. Goodie bag and shirt cannot be guaranteed with “day of” registrations.
