A Race to Remember…Honor Past and Present Heroes

hey! sharing is caring :)

Do you have past and/or present military heroes that you want to honor? Or do you want to show your support to those who fought for our freedom?

A “Race to Remember – Veterans Day Race” is a perfect way to do that.

On November 11th you can choose to run or walk the 5K, 11K or Half Marathon in conjunction with Fort Vancouver National Trust Fort Vancouver Veterans Parade.

There will also be a Kids 1K and if running is not your thing, you can sign up as a volunteer and show your support that way.

Check-in and packet pick up is at 8:30 am at the Fort Vancouver National Historic Site Visitor Center and Opening Ceremonies will begin at 9:45 am.

Registration includes a timed race, tech shirt, medal, drink and snacks. Click HERE to Register.

For up-to-date information, visit the Facebook event, which includes links to the specific race routes.

If you have any questions please contact Claudia Cardenas at 503-806-7145 or [email protected].

You may be wondering how “Race to Remember” got started here in Vancouver, WA.

This nonprofit organization was formed after founder Claudia Cardenas lost her fiancé Jason Vinyard, a 20 yr Army Veteran serving at Ft. Vancouver at the time of his passing.

The mission is to support and honor our past and present military heroes throughout the year.

They do this through four different races and community projects such as “Soldier in the Classroom”, “Thank You Cards” and “Books for Soldiers”.

Through these events, the goal is to form partnerships with local business and other veteran organizations to help best serve the veterans, their spouses and their children in our community.
