No matter what someone’s rank or social station, death finds us all. The Vancouver Barracks Post Cemetery is the last resting place of many of the people who lived and served at the Vancouver Barracks.
On August 26th at 10:00 am and 2:00 pm come out and learn a bit of history at the Vancouver Barracks Post Cemetery Walking Tour.
You will be led by expert Jeff Davis who will introduce you to the wide spectrum of “residents” ranging from prisoners of war, Medal of Honor recipients, to larger than life characters and everyone in between.
Meet at the cemetery entrance (just north of East 4th Plain Boulevard & East of I-5).
There’s a whole weeks worth of fun happening at and around Fort Vancouver in celebration of the 101st Anniversary of the National Park Service. And, these events are FREE, including entrance fees to the reconstructed Fort on August 25, 2017.
