Planting the Seeds of a Good Idea

hey! sharing is caring :)

Local Homegrown Project Offers Lasagna Gardening Workshop.

No, this workshop isn’t just about growing vegetables to add to your lasagna – but once you’ve learned about this layered way of growing, you could make a delicious veggie lasagna if you wanted to! Join the folks from the Clark County Homegrown Project to learn an easier way to prepare your soil for whatever plants you want! They’re offering a class, Thursday, April 28 from 6-8 p.m.

Lasagna gardening involves layering biodegradable waste and mulch so that it breaks down into loose, nutrient-rich topsoil. The first half of the class is lecture-style to explain lasagna gardening and the processes that occur during decomposition, but during the hands-on second half, you may be getting your hands dirty practicing in a raised bed.  Don’t forget to watch the weather and dress accordingly! RSVP to the email below for information about the official location.
