The Vancouver Police department is once again participating in 7-Eleven’s Operation Chill where the department is given a generous amount of coupons for free Slurpee’s to be handed out in hopes to build a positive relationship between local law enforcement and local youth.
This program allows police officers to interact with and reward kids for behavior like wearing their bike helmet, participating in a summer youth program, or just being an outstanding member of our community. “This program is an excellent way for police officers to have a positive connection with a young person and our officers look forward to participating every year,” says Vancouver Police Chief James McElvain.
7-Eleven has been supporting Operation Chill for 23 years. This is the Vancouver Police Departments fourth year participating.
