New Non-Profit Offers “Village 101 Talk” To Help Seniors in Community

hey! sharing is caring :)

Villages Clark County is a new non-profit volunteer organization right here in Vancouver WA. This is a group of like-minded volunteers, boomers and seniors, who come together to figure out and develop the resources they will need to age comfortably in their own homes.

You are invited to come out to their “Village 101” talk on February 18 at 10:30 AM at the Camas Library. During this talk the community will discuss the details of this innovation community organization, looking to publicize events and to get more volunteers to help plan Clark County’s Village that will open in 2018.

The first village, in Boston, began a decade ago when 12 older adults joined forces.  There are now over 300 villages nationwide with over 140 more in development.

The purpose of villages is to enable people to age in place as well as they can for as long as they can for as little as they can. Villages are started and run by volunteers and members.
