National Night Out Events Around Clark County

hey! sharing is caring :)

What is National Night Out? Well, officially it is an annual community-building campaign that takes place the first Tuesday in August promoting neighborhood camaraderie and police-community partnerships to make our neighborhoods safer, more caring places to live while bringing back a true sense of community.

Unofficially, it’s the Great American Crime Prevention Party! This is a great opportunity to bring police and neighbors together under positive circumstances; and where neighbors are more connected, crime rates tend to go down.

So, this year, National Night Out will take place on Tuesday, August 1, 2017. There are many events taking place around Clark County. Here are just a few…

La Center: The La Center Police Department will host their event at Holley Park in La Center, WA from 6:00 pm to 9:00 pm. This free event provides citizens the opportunity to meet public safety staff from the Police and Fire Departments, with a special performance by the BlackPearl Friesian Troupe.  The Police Department anticipates that, like last year, the event will prove to be an enjoyable evening and will assist in promoting community pride.

Ridgefield: The City sponsors this event in Abrams Park from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm. Take a tour through patrol cars, enjoy free BBQ hot dogs, polish sausages, chips, and cookies, and browse the Farmers Market. You can even bring your own bike and join in the Bicycle Rodeo sponsored by the Ridgefield Business Association.

Battle Ground: FREE event for youth and families focused on fun learning and prevention activities at Kiwanis Park from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm. Neighbors who attend will enjoy delicious free hot dogs grilled by Chief Steve Wrightson, Fire District #3 and Chief Bob Richardson, Battle Ground Police Department. Entertainment will be provided by Hot Pocket, NW Rock Academy Youth Band.

Yacolt: Join the fun at  Yacolt Town Park located on Jones St. for an evening of BBQ, root beer floats, fun and games sponsored by the Town of Yacolt. Dunk Tank, Tug of War and other activities. This is a family event (however, dogs are not allowed at this event).

Northfield: Northfield neighbors are invited to the annual Northfield Neighborhood Picnic at Northfield Park
(SE 172nd Pl & SE 19th St) starting at 6:00 pm. Lots of prizes, activities and free food!

Esther Short neighbors (residents, businesses, non-profits…) are invited to join the fun at Esther Short Park from 6:00 to 8:00 pm.  Food, rock painting competition, corn hole, trivia, prizes and more! Come meet your neighbors and learn more about your neighborhood!
