Million Socks March(es) into the New Year

hey! sharing is caring :)

It’s funny, but one of the traditions in our house is new socks for everyone on Christmas. Even funnier, is the fact that everyone actually looks forward to it!

Now, just imagine if socks were actually a luxury you didn’t have every day.

Sadly, there are many in our community that are in need of simple basic supplies…like clean and dry socks. There are two main reasons socks are among the most valuable piece of clothing to people without permanent housing. For one, feet work overtime when there’s no cozy home (and laundry room) to return to each night. The other reason is that socks and underwear aren’t often donated or, when they are, the goods can’t be sanitized and put to use.

Savior Socks is on a mission to fill that need! Tammy Newbill began the non-profit in November of 2016. She has organized multiple local fundraising events over the past year collecting donations and distributing over 6000 pairs of socks to date.

You can join the crusade, and the fun, on New Year’s Eve as Savior Socks is partnering up with Northwood Public House and Brewery and will be having a basket to raffle off during their New Year’s Eve Celebration.

Battle Ground Village businesses have contributed many wonderful items and services to put together a basket valued at over $650.00! Raffle tickets are 1 for $2, 3 for $5 or 12 for $20. Tickets will be sold at the event, or you can purchase them in advance (call Tammy at 360-601-8036).

“Northwood Public House and Brewery New Year’s Eve celebration is an excellent opportunity to support Savior Socks by bringing a pair of socks to this event. We are helping love grow one step at a time and you are invited!” ~Tammy Newbill, Founder and CEO of Savior Socks

Northwood Public House and Brewery (1401 Rasmussen Blvd., Battle Ground) New Year’s Eve event will feature live music from 9:30 pm to 12:30 am (21+ after 10:00 pm. There will also be a $5 cover after 10:00 pm).
