Marshall Center Celebrates 50 Years

To celebrate an amazing 50 years the Marshall Center (1009 E McLoughlin Blvd, Vancouver) will be hosting a FREE Family Fun Day on Saturday, May 30th from Noon to 5:00 PM.

The Marshall Community Center first opened its doors on July 2, 1965. The center, named for General George C. Marshall, realized a community vision for an exciting recreation facility serving folks of all ages in Vancouver. The center was renovated and modernized in 2007 and continues to serve as a place for people of all ages and abilities to learn, get healthy and have fun.


There are tons of activities scheduled for the day. Special discounts on summer programs will be offered at this even, must register in person.

Public Swims: (160 bracelets hand out for each session, bracelet handout times vary)
Noon-1:30; 1:45-3:15; 3:30-5
Pottery: Demonstrations and hands on activities will be in the pottery studio from noon-4:00 PM.
Gymnasium: A variety of sports activities will take place from 12:30-4:30.
Fitness Center.
The fitness center will be open for ages 13 and up.
Group exercise demonstrations will include:
12:30 – Barre Fit; 2 – Zumba Kids; 2:45 – U-Jam for Families
Teen SPOT and Game room will be open to all ages from 12-5pm.
Face Painting from noon-5pm in the oak and elm room.

The Vancouver Parks and Recreation Department operates 1,587 acres of parkland, 114 parks and natural areas, 19.7 miles of trail and three community centers (Firstenburg Community Center, Marshall/Luepke Center and Vancouver Tennis Center). The three recreation centers combined receive approximately 1.2 million visits annually and provide recreation programs, classes and services for people of all ages and abilities.
