Ahh…the holidays! A time of year that many of us yearn for things of nostalgia to get us in the Christmas spirit.
Magenta Theater has the perfect fix for this…their stage adaptation of Frank Capra’s classic film “It’s a Wonderful Life”.
The casting of this beloved classic promises to bring a smile to your face. Michael Evan Adent portrays George Bailey, alongside Magenta-newcomer Madeleine Loewen as Mary Hatch Bailey. The Bailey children are played by Sidney O’Neill (Zuzu), Alec Chaney (Pete), Lana Marriott (Janie), and Daniella Knittle (Tommy).
In addition, we have a relatively new director, Keri Pedersen, who brings a fresh perspective to the classic tale.
For those unfamiliar with the story, this is the heart-warming saga of George Bailey from the small town of Bedford Falls, whose dreams of escape and adventure have been repeatedly squashed by notions of family obligation and civic duty.
The story begins on Christmas Eve when Clarence, George’s guardian angel, descends to save him from despair and to remind him this has been, after all, a wonderful life.
