Kumoricon Convention 2014

hey! sharing is caring :)

If you are downtown August 29th through  September 1st, you are likely to see some strange sights…even for Vancouver. That is because the Hilton at 301 West 6th Street will be taken over by the strange and wonderful creations of the Kumoricon attendees.

What is Kumoricon you ask? It is a unique event that celebrates anime and Japanese culture. Gaining its namesake (kumori) from the Japanese word “cloudy”, Kumoricon was founded and first held in 2003. It brings together multi-generations of fans to celebrate the great NW and this fandom’s subculture.

At the 2014 Kumoricon you will find: Tons of events (both official and unofficial); fan panels; presentations; workshops, special guest speakers; Cosplay Contests and the AMV Contest. Be sure make time to hang out in the leisure areas for activities like video gaming, karaoke, manga library, viewing rooms and exhibitors.

This year marks the 12th annual celebration and promises to be new, improved and better than ever. Now at four whole days, fans can finally have the time to see everything they want to see, and to go everywhere they want to go. The Kumoricon family is growing with every passing year, and it’s all thanks to the huge. effort of the community of supporters.
