Hoops for Hope Brings Good Ballin’ and Big Benefit to Community

hey! sharing is caring :)

The HOOPS for HOPE 3-on-3 benefit event is being held this weekend, August 19-21, 2022, and will include a Kids Clinic, a Cheer Camp, Slam Dunk contest, and a 3-point shoot-out, as well as some really fun and competitive 3-on-3 basketball.

The former “Hoops on the River” founders have come back to bring a new and improved experience. Teams of all ages and skill levels, families, and sports enthusiasts are all welcome! The games will be played on half courts, spread throughout the parking lot on the NW side of Vancouver Mall.

Center Court will showcase players in our community, where they demonstrate their hoop skills and other fun activities!

The schedule includes Friday Kids Clinics, 13 and under (1:00 pm-2:00 pm), 14 and up (2:30 pm-3:30 pm); and Cheer Camp (12:00 pm-1:30 pm). Then the games begin all day Saturday, wrapping up with the Championship games on Sunday.

Hoops for Hope is put on by the Hope for the Good Foundation, whose mission is to benefit the low-income families of our community and to create a youth scholarship fund. The Steve Oberst scholarship will give youth the support they need to pursue their talents and passion, attend various sports camps, play league sports, or do other activities, which will enrich their lives – on and off the court.

H.O.P.E. stands for ‘help one person everyday’. Serving one another through helping others leads to uplifting our communities, neighborhoods, schools, families, and ourselves. When this becomes a habit, the world seems to be a little healthier and HOPEful.
