Highly Anticipated New Ridgefield Campus Opens

hey! sharing is caring :)

The long anticipated and much needed new Sunset Ridge Intermediate School was celebrated with a ribbon-cutting ceremony on Saturday, September 8th. This is the first new school to be built in Ridgefield in more than 40 years and was all made possible by the bond passing in February 2017.

The project broke ground back in May 2017 and since then the community has watched as the striking two-story, 145,000 square foot school featuring 44 full-size classrooms, two gyms, a multi-purpose/wrestling facility, large library-media center, life skills suite, band, and choir rooms and a contemporary black box theater was built.

Students, teachers, administrators, parents, and community members were present for the ceremonial ribbon cutting marking the official opening of the new school. School board members Emily Enquist, Becky Greenwald, and Scott Gullickson had the honors of cutting the ribbon. View Ridge Middle School leadership students also took part in the ceremony.

A special thanks were given to the project teams with LSW Architects, Emerick Construction Company, and R&C Management Group, LLC by Superintendent Nathan McCann. Without their support and dedication during the entire process, this project would not have been successful.
