Give More 24! – A Day to Lift Local Causes

hey! sharing is caring :)

Give More 24! is a day to express your generosity and support of more than 200 local nonprofits. Starting at midnight on Thursday, September 22, thousands of people will come together and give to the causes they care about most. You can join in by visiting GiveMore24.org and finding a favorite nonprofit to support. Your gift can even go further thanks to matching funds and nonprofit prizes available on the big day.

The Community Foundation for Southwest Washington launched the event in 2013 to build broader support for local causes and build fundraising capacity for area nonprofits. President Matt Morton said the event has seen consistent growth thanks to the generosity of local neighbors and communities who raised more than $3.3 million for 207 nonprofits operating in Clark, Cowlitz, and Skamania Counties last year.

Editor Note: A Give More 24 cause that is obviously special to me and my family is the ALS Association of Oregon and SW Washington. I am a person living through the challenges of ALS every day. (I am documenting some of my ALS journey in a blog, I’d be honored if you followed along). Our family knows first-hand the incredible assistance the ALS Association provides to people throughout this community. The Association provides holistic, trauma-informed services to all residents living with ALS registered with the chapter here in Clark County and the metro area. They are the only nonprofit to provide these services – many of them no-cost, specialized services – for people with ALS in this area. After 22 years of providing care, they continue to stay connected to a growing list of over 5,000 community members and supporters in this tri-county region.

Together, Give More 24 is hoping to raise $3.5 million for a variety of causes. If we all give them a lift in whatever way we can, we can keep Generosity Rising well beyond that goal.

Find, support, and celebrate local causes during our region’s biggest day of online giving.
