For all you ‘budding’ brewmasters out there, this one’s for you. :) Here’s a free, local workshop on getting started growing hops at home.
Did you know you could grow hops in your own backyard! They say it’s as easy as growing a perennial – no green thumbs needed! As you may know, hops are used in home brewing beer or as an attractive decorative addition to your garden landscape.
Join Greg Joyce of Homebrew Exchange on Saturday, March 12, from 10:00am to 12:30pm, for an introductory workshop where you will learn about site selection, how to start and care for the plants, and how to harvest and use them. The workshop is put on in conjunction with Clark County Environmental Services, and is offered free of charge, however advanced registration is required.
Please visit the WSU Extension website for more information, or call Erika at 360-397-6060 ext. 5738.
And if you’re up for it, bring a lawn chair and your work clothes, there will be a chance to do some maintenance in the demo garden after the workshop.
