Get rid of block foam and old electronics for free.
Vancouver and Clark County residents can recycle block foam from holiday presents and used electronics for free on Saturday, January 4, 2014 between 9 a.m. and 1 p.m. at Fisher’s Landing Transit Center, 3510 S.E. 164th Avenue.
Empower Up, a local nonprofit organization that recycles electronics, will accept computers and other electronic equipment. Refurbished computers are given to students, families in need and nonprofits.
The event will not accept plastic-wrapped, yellow urethane foam or spongy polypropylene foam, food trays, foam film, hot tub covers, packing peanuts and foam with cardboard, tape or metal attached.
Block foam also can be dropped off at the Empower Up Reuse Center, 3206 N.E. 52nd St., between 10 a.m. and 5:30 p.m. Monday through Friday and 10 a.m. and 4:30 p.m. Saturday.
