View Fort Vancouver in a different light…candlelight! Take a trip into the past and see what life was like at Fort Vancouver after dark on a lantern-lit journey with a Park Ranger through a night at Fort Vancouver.
“Experience live theater and take a lantern-lit journey with a Park Ranger. Peek into the past with costumed interpreters performing historical vignettes of a night at Fort Vancouver. Learn about your urban national park then and now while walking through the Fort’s buildings. Finish off your evening by sharing a cup of hot cider with the talented costume interpreters and park rangers!”
Each adult attending the program will carry their own candle lantern (the Fort provides these) and tour with a Park Ranger through the Counting House, Fur Store, Chief Factors House, Kitchen and/or Bake House as costumed interpreters perform live theater.
Upcoming Fort Vancouver Lantern Tours are November 2 and16, 2013; December 7 and 21, 2013; January 4 and 18, 2014; and February 1 and 16, 2014. Tours last approximately one and a half hours, and are best enjoyed by children 10 years old and up (you must be at least 15 to carry a lantern). Cost is $10 for adults and $7 for kids under 15.
