I have always been intrigued by glass. As a kid, every time our family went to the coast, I would always want to watch the glass blowing demonstrations. Now, I don’t have to take a trip to the Coast to see glass blowing demonstrations, they are now offered every first Friday of the month at Firehouse Glass right here in our very own downtown Vancouver, WA (518 Main Street).

“Firehouse Glass Gallery is open each First Friday night of the month from 6:00-10:00 during our public glass blowing demonstrations, and by appointment throughout the week.  Public glass blowing demonstrations are an exciting way to see hot glass made into objects.  Each month a theme is chosen for the content of the demonstrations often based on a season or a technique.”  Work made during the public demonstrations each week can be seen in the gallery space for up to a month after it was made.

In 1999 Greg Lueck and Rebecca Seymour renovated the turn of the century Vancouver National Bank Building to showcase Firehouse Glass. The spectacular gallery provides exquisite exhibit space for works by both emerging glass artists as well as nationally acclaimed masters.

Firehouse Glass also offers lessons from beginner through advanced skill levels, as well as the potential to repair or replicate a special piece of glass you may already own.
