Join in on the festivities at Vancouver’s friendliest free family fun-filled event this Summer at the 2017 Fire in the Park.
While there is lots of fun to be had at Fire in the Park, this event also provides safety education to our community while benefitting “Firefighters Care”. It is a day of fun with a firefighter challenge, pipe and drum band, kids events and a variety of safety and awareness programs.
Kids will be entertained (and learn a thing or two) in the Kid Safety Zone. There they can see Fire Trucks up close, check out AMR’s Teddy Bear Clinic to find out about first-aid, learn when to call 911 from CRESA and building something cool with Home Depot. Kids who complete all the safety stations and get a FREE all sports helmet.
There are activities for the adults as well. The American Red Cross will be on hand to tell you about being prepared for a disaster, AMR with have some important information about first-aid and learn life saving skills with hands only CPR.
But wait there is more…interact with firefighters, EMT’s and kids can be a Jr Fire Fighter for the day in the Paul Davis Kids Firefighter Challenge.
Check out the Facebook event for up-to-date info.
This is a FREE event, however , donations are greatly appreciated and will go to Firefighter’s Care (Vancouver Firefighter’s Community Assistance Fund). This fund provides immediate short-term support to individuals in the community during emergency and non-emergency situations.
