Fire in the Park is Seven Alarm Fun

hey! sharing is caring :)

The Vancouver Firefighters Union will be hosting the 7th Annual Fire in the Park on Saturday, July 16, 2016 at Esther Short Park. This is a FREE family fun event with activities and events from 10 am to 3 pm.

Firefighters from different districts in our area come together to make this a successful event for our community. Everyone will have the chance to meet some of our local firefighters and check out the Fire Trucks and Fire Engines up close, learn life-saving hands only CPR, and prepare for disaster with the American Red Cross.

Kids can be a Junior Fire Fighter in the Kids Firefighter Challenge, learn first aid from an AMR Paramedic in the Teddy Bear Clinic, and complete all the fun safety stations for a free all sport helmet (first 600 kids only). Home Depot will also be at Fire in the Park teaching kids how to use tools safely while building something cool!

Plus updated attractions:

Get your picture taken with Disaster Dog, at 10:30, 12:30 and 2:30 at the American Red Cross ERV (that’s lingo for the Emergency Response Vehicle) :)
Smiles Dental will also have a photo booth on site to capture all the fun!
‘Hands-only’ (whew!) :) CPR Flash Mob – (yes, for real!)
Pet CPR/First Aid Demo
Stop, Drop and Roll Challenge

FITP_sponsors“Fire in the Park is a free, fun, family friendly event to provide safety education to our community while benefiting Firefighters Care.” All proceeds go toward the Vancouver Community Assistance Fund which allows local firefighters in the field to provide immediate, short-term support to people they encounter during emergency and non-emergency situations.
