Just because it’s Fall, doesn’t mean the outdoor adventures have to end! Take your family on an urban adventure at the Columbia Springs Family Nature Fest on Saturday, October 22, 2016 from 10:00 am to 2:00 pm and enjoy guided wildlife hikes, hatchery tours, crafts, scavenger hunt, live animal shows, facepainting, and even make a volcano!
There is no pre-registration required, and you can show up and leave any time you would like. “Some activities are on-going for the entire duration of the event; things like crafts and games from our friends at Friends of the Ridgefield National Wildlife Refuge, Mount St. Helens Institute, Waste Connections, and Columbia Gorge Refuge Stewards. Other activities, like guided walks, tours, and presentations, will be 30 to 45 minutes long and start at specifically scheduled times. We will post the schedule of activities as soon as it’s finalized with input from all of our wonderful presenters!” ~ Columbia Springs
Activities will take place rain or shine, and there will be both indoor and outdoor activities, so be sure to dress for the weather…this is an event that celebrates nature, after all! Also keep in mind, the areas around the classroom, hatchery and activity tents are very accessible for strollers and wheelchairs, but the nature trails are unpaved. Columbia Springs is located at 12208 SE Evergreen Hwy, Vancouver, WA, 98683. There is a $5 per child suggested donation. For more information, visit Columbia Springs online.
