Everyday is Earth Day in Clark County

Recycleman Rocks the Camas Farmers Market.

Who says recycling isn’t fun? Not Recycleman, who looks like some wacky combination of medieval Scottish warrior, gladiator and space-age superhero. His get-up includes a cape, which only true superheroes can wear. In his superhero costume made out of recycled trash – complete with a truck inner tube kilt – Recycleman is able to capture kids’ and adults’ attention and get them excited about recycling and other eco-friendly messages. He has performed at schools, camps and fairs inspiring, educating and entertaining thousands of kids (and kids at heart) and he will be ready to entertain, or Eco-tain, you at the Camas Farmers Market (635 NE 4th Ave) this Wednesday, September 8.

Looking to get an edge on kitchen and garden tasks? Bill Baines, with Edge Master Mobile Sharpening, will also be at the market this Wednesday, and sharpens not only kitchen knives, but all types of blades. Bring your knives, gardening tools, food processor blades, kitchen shears, and lawn mower blades (remove them from the mower first!) to be sharpened onsite at very reasonable prices.  Sharp knives make a big difference in the kitchen and your gardening is so much easier with sharp blades. Did you know that most accidents are caused by dull blades, not sharp ones!

What else can you expect at the Camas Farmers Market? Besides freshly harvested seasonal produce, flowers, pastured meat, eggs, crafted cheese and prepared foods (mmm, cheesecake!); chat with a farmer, get cooking tips from local cooks, enjoy local music, or even speak to a Master Gardner about your garden questions. The Camas Farmers Market is open every Wednesday through September 29, between 3 and 7:30 pm.
