While everyone thinks to donate items like food and clothes to the homeless, basic needs are often left out. And, while some things can be a bit awkward to talk about, doesn’t mean they should be ignored.
Homeless women often lack the basic items needed when it comes to their menstrual cycle. Students who are homeless using a Community Resource Center can often be put in embarrassing situations without access to these basic needs. Every28Days was created to help combat this need by collecting boxes of pads and tampons to supply homeless women with.
Partners in Careers has formulated a special group funded by the “Empower Women and Girls Organization”. This group collects and donates feminine hygiene products to local homeless women as part of the Every28Days campaign. They have partnered with the following locations to collect donations:
3 Monkeys Pub and Grill – 7917 NE Highway 99
Creative Colors Released Hair Studio – 9108 NE Highway 99
A Bath and a Biscuit – 4219 NE St. Johns Road
EOCF – 17800 SE Mill Plain Blvd. Suite 150
The Bridgeview Resource Center – 505 Omaha Way
Partners In Careers – 3210 NE 52nd Street
These locations will be collecting boxes of sanitary products until July 17th.
