The Washougal Festival of Tree committee is gearing up to make this ninth year a smashing success. While in past years the event was held the first weekend of December, this years event will take place on Friday, December 7th and Saturday, December 8th at Hathaway Elementry School. Stop by and bid on a decorated tree or gift basket, enjoy holiday music and refreshments.
Breakfast prepared by the Washougal Culinary and Skills Center students will be served on Saturday morning from 9:00 AM to 12:00 PM. There will be pictures with Santa in the school library and various gift baskets and trees will be available to bid on. Guests will also be delighted with musical entertainment.
To make the event a huge success, more sponsors are needed. Last year more than $15,000 was donated to Washougal schools and this year’s goal is $20,000. These funds pay for books, assemblies, and field trips.
If you are an individual, organization, or business and would like to decorate a tree or donate a basket contact Margie Shoemaker, event chair, at [email protected].
